Neale called to the Bar in 2020 after practising as a solicitor for five years. He qualified as a solicitor advocate in 2018.
As a solicitor, Neale dealt with a broad range of commercial disputes. His practice had a particular focus on commercial contracts, banking and finance, insolvency and professional liability litigation. He gained substantial experience of appearing in court and regularly conducted proofs and debates.
Neale is a reporter for Session Cases. He teaches on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow. He is an Associate Member (ACIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association and a member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3).
Neale won the Mike Jones Excellence in Advocacy Award in 2019.
Insolvency
- Joint Bankruptcy Trustees of Gregory King v King [2020] CSOH 101. Appeared for the defender (with David Thomson QC) in an action for declarator of constructive trust in relation to shares in a foreign company and payment of £6m.
