Axiom welcomes The Rt.Hon Lord GlennieBack to News Listing
Axiom Advocates is delighted to welcome Lord Glennie back to practice after some 15 years on the bench. Lord Glennie has joined Axiom Advocates as an arbitrator member only, with a view to accepting appointments as an arbitrator (both domestic and international). He has also re-joined his London chambers, Twenty Essex, again as an arbitrator member.
After being appointed to the bench in 2005, Lord Glennie was for four years (2007-2011) the principal commercial judge. With the coming into force of the Arbitration (Scotland) Act 2010, he was appointed an arbitration judge in 2010, dealing with the first cases to come before the court under the Act. He was also an intellectual property judge and a judge of the Upper Tribunal (Tax and Chancery Chamber). He is Chair of the Arbitration Court Users Group and has been appointed the next Chair of the Scottish Arbitration Centre, and will act as Vice-Chair of the Centre until he takes up that position after ICCA 2020 (now delayed until September 2021). He is also an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Hon FCIArb).\\
