Axiom is delighted to welcome Lesley Irvine to Axiom, having called to the bar on Friday 13th July.
Prior to being admitted to the Faculty of Advocates, Lesley undertook a Bar traineeship at a Court of Session commercial litigation firm in Edinburgh. She trained exclusively in litigation, focusing on insurer-defender work and assisting with commercial cases in the Court of Session. She also assisted in the pro bono representation of a charitable organisation seeking to challenge by way of judicial review the termination of a lease and so the effective closure of a community centre in the south-east of Edinburgh.
With extensive research experience of and interests in the areas of EU, equalities, and human rights law, Lesley intends to combine a public law practice with work based in the commercial courts of the Court of Session. She also has an interest in art & antiquities law, and is currently undertaking a Diploma in Art Law at the Institute of Art & Law.
Lesley was awarded the Faculty of Advocates’ Lord Reid Scholarship for 2011/12.
