Public Law under the Spotlight: The Implications of AXA General Insurance Limited and others v The Lord Advocate [2011] UKSC 46

The Supreme Court has issued its judgment in the case of Axa General Insurance Ltd and others v The Lord Advocate [2011] UKSC 46. The case is of significant constitutional importance and will have major implications for the development of public law in Scotland. In light of this fact, Axiom Advocates has arranged the above seminar, to discuss the implications of the case.

The speakers at the event will be Richard Keen QC, James Mure QC and James Wolffe QC. The event will be chaired by Ruth Crawford QC.

Richard Keen QC will discuss retrospective legislation and convention rights.
James Mure QC will speak about challenges to Acts of the Scottish Parliament.
James Wolffe QC will discuss title and interest in public law cases.

The event will take place on Thursday 27th October 2011 from 4.30pm in the Mackenzie Building, Old Assembly Close, High Street, Edinburgh. Coffee is served from 4.30pm. The talks will run from 4.45pm to 5.45pm followed by drinks. Details of how to reserve a place at this event are provided below.
