Kenny McBrearty called to the Bar having previously practised as a solicitor. He now deals primarily with commercial litigation. He has dealt with a wide variety of disputes, with a particular emphasis on commercial contracts, property and oil and gas.

His practice is particularly focused in the Commercial Court of the Court of Session, although he was recently instructed in a long-running international commercial arbitration. He was also appointed as junior Counsel to the ICL Inquiry, chaired by Lord Gill, the first public inquiry held in Scotland under the Inquiries Act 2005.

Kenny was recommended for commercial litigation in the Legal 500 for 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. He was appointed as Standing Junior Counsel to the Scottish Executive in 2006.
