Iain Ferguson graduated from Dundee University as top student with honours and called to the Bar in 1987. He took silk in 2000.

As a junior, he had an extensive and varied practice covering a wide range of civil litigation and advice. He was Standing Junior Counsel for the MOD (Army) for a number of years and later Standing Junior Counsel for planning. He also acted as an ad hoc Advocate Depute.

Since becoming a QC, Iain has acted regularly for insurers and for medical professionals in clinical negligence claims. He continues to do planning work for developers and local authorities and to act for insurers. His principal areas of legal interest lie in professional and clinical liability/negligence, property and commercial property.
