Professional Experience

Alasdair has a busy civil practice, mainly in the field of professional liability. He acts for both pursers and defenders in cases concerning accountants, surveyors and solicitors but his construction background means that the bulk of his work is in cases concerning architects and engineers. In addition to his professional liability work, Alasdair is regularly instructed in construction cases as well as general commercial contract disputes, property matters and insolvency cases. Alasdair has represented clients in the Supreme Court, the Court of Session (both Inner House and Outer House) and the Sheriff Court and is experienced in arbitration, adjudication and mediation. Alasdair also appears for the Home Office in immigration and asylum cases before the first tier tribunal, from time to time.
